SIP Forum Names Gary Richenaker to Board
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – February 8, 2016 – iconectiv, a leader in telecommunications innovation and policy, is pleased to announce that its Principal Solutions Architect Gary Richenaker was recently named to the SIP Forum Board of Directors. Richenaker has nearly 40 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and will bring valuable insight and guidance to this board position.
The SIP Forum's mission is to advance the adoption of products and services based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), the industry protocol of choice for initiating real-time communication services and application-level mobility across various networks and user devices. Richenaker joins a prestigious group of fellow board members who represent leading organizations in telecommunications and connectivity including Bandwidth.com, Cisco Systems, Comcast, Cox Communications, GENBAND, Unify, and Edgewater Networks.
In his current role at iconectiv, Richenaker investigates new technologies for their impact on existing services and their potential in the development of future products. This focus is a perfect fit for his board position.
His selection to the SIP Forum Board reflects Richenaker’s more than 20 years of involvement in domestic and international standards. He presently holds several industry leadership positions including Co-Chair of the ATIS Test bed Landscape Team (TLT) and editor of the ATIS/SIP Forum IP NNI Routing Document. He has also been Chairman of the U.S. ENUM Forum and Past-Chairman of the U.S. IMSI Oversight Council (IOC), among other positions.
