Senior Network Engineer
Responsibilities
The Senior Network Engineer role is responsible for the implementation, planning, and coordination of network and security systems and software that protects the technological infrastructure for the NPAC (Number Portability Administration Center). In this capacity, the Senior Network Engineer builds and maintains the daily operations of computer networks for Lab and Production at our Primary and Alternate data centers.
This position has the following responsibilities:
Must be available to support the needs of the business 24 x 7 via on-call team rotation
- Support local data centers on-site and remotely to manage and maintain lab and production network equipment. This includes performing work physically in the data center when on-site hands are required.
- Design, build, implement and test, green field lab and production network solutions.
- Design, implement and test network expansions and changes.
- Deploy, install, and configure hardware such as firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, IPS, network monitoring systems and other network security related products.
- Develop project proposals, designs, implementation plans including timelines and cost projections for various network initiatives.
- Write functional requirements/specifications documents for network projects and initiatives.
- Perform network maintenance activities - upgrade network hardware, IOS upgrades and network routing configuration implementations and modifications, as required.
- Review and develop MoPs (Method of Procedures) for network change management implementations in lab and production environments.
- Develop and maintain Network ODR (Operations Design Requirement) documents for network data configuration record keeping and archives.
- Perform network troubleshooting to isolate, diagnose and resolve common and complex network problems.
- Develop and implement network acceptance test plans for new network builds.
- Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
- Be able to advise and present technology related issues and trends to management.
- Knowledge share, direct and guide junior members of the team.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have Fortinet Certified Professional - Network Security Certification
- Expertise in Fortinet FortiGate, FortiSwitch network gear and FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiAuthenticator. .
- BS or MS in Network Engineering and Administration or related technology field.
- Minimum 7 years of IT Network experience.
- Strong experience in the areas of Network requirements analysis, architecture, engineering, operations, and maintenance.
- Experience with Cisco router, ASA, and switching (Catalyst, Nexus) systems, F5 load balancing and network monitoring tools is a plus.
- Expertise in the following areas: WAN, LAN, Switching, and IP addressing, Routing Protocols, Firewalls, IPSec VPN tunnels and network/data security.
- Expertise with SNMP – and NetFlow-based network monitoring and management
- Expertise with infrastructure cabling and premise guideline specifications
- Experience with various operating systems and environments (Windows, Linux, Solaris).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications Suite and SharePoint.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management.

- Familiarity with ITIL standards, Number Portability, Telecommunications is a plus.

Intern, Desktop Support, IT
Internship position will be part time hours during the 2025 spring semester and full time hours during the summer 2025 months.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows systems
- The System Administrator manages, maintains, and updates systems to facilitate the storage, computing, and communication of information based on the company
- Service Level requirements Certifications a plus
Required Skills:
- Must have a GPA >3.0 pursuing a degree in Computer Science
- Hands-on experience with Windows, Mac OS, Office 365, and VPN
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds to install desktops, servers and networking equipment
- Familiarity with open-source tools & packaging, monitoring systems, hardware troubleshooting, tracking, resolution, and routine maintenance with security updates

Intern, Service Desk/NOC
Responsibilities:
Customer service skills like; patience, attentiveness, attention to detail, and clear communication are vital, while basic PC, and network monitoring and connectivity troubleshooting skills are highly desired. Our IT Service Desk – Network Operations Center provides end user support of proprietary business applications, support of standard (off the shelf) client software, monitoring alerts from systems and applications, and executing a variety of defined functions. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor and take appropriate action, per documented instruction, on Network, Server, and Application alerts.
- Manage, by creating tickets and executing email/verbal communications, external customer requests.
- Troubleshoot and resolve internal end-user laptop, application, and communications problems.
- Assist the ServiceNow Application Administration team on various tasks, including potentially using JavaScript.
Requirements:
- Have an attention to detail and a passion for accuracy and preciseness.
- Seeking someone who has a nighttime class schedule or a lightly loaded daytime schedule.
- The ability to operate and be successful both on individual tasks and team tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Contract, Senior Linux Systems Engineer
Six month contract with possibility of extension
Responsibilities:
- Administration of Redhat, CentOS, and other Linux operating systems
- Satellite management, scripting languages, and puppet/chef/ansible automation
- Configuration, maintenance and respond to the alerts of the monitoring system
- Prepare for new product related releases and assists with new initiatives and upgrades
- Work with our product development team to implement and support new client offerings
- Explore and integrate new technologies, transitioning operations from traditional administration and deployment to infrastructure as application leveraging automation/configuration management technologies
- Work with Security initiatives including hardening of golden images, OS patch lifecycles, fixing vulnerabilities, implementing PAM/SSO, and other security related projects
Requirements:
- 10+ years’ experience as Linux Administrator
- Occasional work after hours or weekends at our co‐location facility
- Rotational after‐hours support with 24/7 on-call duty
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Computer Science or 10+ years of experience in lieu of degree
