Newly Elected Chair of Key ATIS Group to Ensure Integrity of the Global Supply Chain
BIRDGEWATER, NJ – September 11, 2018: iconectiv, a partner of the global communications industry connecting more than two billion people every day, has taken over the leadership of the Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) Committee within ATIS[1]. John Curreri, Systems Engineer at iconectiv, has been elected as the new chair.
AIDC delivers solutions to simplify the receiving, shipping, transportation and tracing processes for telecommunications products, helping the industry achieve greater efficiencies throughout the global supply chain. AIDC manages a catalogue of technical standards that includes specifications for how telecommunications equipment is identified for inventory management and asset tracking. These include guidelines for equipment product identification schemes, barcode labels, RFID tagging, and data elements including the Management Information Base (MIB). AIDC also acts as a critical liaison with several related groups to ensure the effective integration of U.S. and global standards.
Curreri brings more than 18 years of experience working with Common Language®, which is a centralized data information solution that simplifies fixed asset management and network planning. His knowledge is built on the positions he has held in equipment, connections, circuits and location solutions. He has also worked within the iconectiv Telecom Routing Administration (TRA) and, as a member of the ATIS Testbed Landscape Team, co-authored an IP routing test plan to support the all-IP transition.
“Maintaining a strong focus on standardization of all products including those that support the evolution towards network virtualization is necessary to ensure the integrity of the global supply chain,” said Curreri. “I am looking forward to working with the wider membership to determine the future direction of AIDC and making it as simple as possible for all stakeholders in the industry to speak the same language.”
iconectiv is an active member and contributor to ATIS and holds a number of leadership positions, collaborating with other leading technology and solutions development organizations, and playing a key role in driving the future of the industry. ATIS Membership includes the opportunity to participate in all ATIS committees and Forums and join critical initiatives such as 3GPP and oneM2M.
