Consumer Threats in Technology and Connected Device Risks to be discussed at Communications Summit

Naples, FL. – May 10, 2017 – iconectiv, an authoritative partner of the global communications industry connecting more than two billion people every day, will present a pair of security focused presentations at IEEE ComSoc International Communications Quality and Reliability Workshop (CQR) in Naples, Fl. 

On Wednesday, May 17, John Kimmins, Senior Security Director, iconectiv, will present Telecom Technology Threats Impacting 5G Networks and discuss what new security threats and sophisticated attacks 5G implementation will face, as well as what the FCC is doing to address those issues. 

The following day, Thursday, May 18, Chris Drake, CTO, iconectiv, will address the risks and challenges associated with the proliferation of mobile connected devices during his presentation What Can We Do about the Internet of Unsecure Things? 

The IEEE CQR International Workshop brings together industry leaders and experts in the telecommunications field each May, with the focus of increasing communications quality, reliability and security. Other topics of discussion during this year’s three-day session will include mobile and ad hoc networks, VoIP services, network architecture, and emerging technologies.

IEEE ComSoc International Communications Quality and Reliability Workshop (CQR)

The IEEE CQR International Workshop is held annually with the purpose of bringing together industry and academic experts to present and discuss communications quality, reliability and security issues as they relate to real world issues.   The output from the workshops adds to the community’s body of knowledge and serves to inform, help form opinions, and to assist in the development of best practices and relevant standards.
