BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – February 19, 2020 – Currently, over 75% of calls are left unanswered when it comes from an unidentified or unfamiliar number. This is due to the spike in illegal robocalls, which reached 85 billion globally in 2018 – a 325% jump from 2017. During 2019, illegal robocalls represented nearly half of all unwanted calls in the U.S., according to the FCC.

As a trusted partner in the global communications ecosystem, iconectiv is helping to address this growing, global problem with the launch of TruReach Certify. Based on the STIR standard and SHAKEN protocol, TruReach Certify acts as the foundation that ensures only legitimate and trusted entities can participate in the STIR/SHAKEN ecosystem . The solution is extendable internationally when service providers deploy STIR/SHAKEN framework.

“Illegal robocalling and phone spam are a global epidemic that service providers and regulators have banded together to solve in order to restore trust back in caller ID,” said Richard Jacowleff, CEO, iconectiv. “The launch of TruReach Certify is in line with iconectiv’s commitment to enhancing consumer confidence in voice, text and data communications, which are relied on to connect billions of people every minute of every day.”

TruReach Certify is already deployed in the U.S, where iconectiv serves as the Secure Telephone Identity Policy Administrator (STI-PA). It is also available to other countries looking to mitigate robocalling with the STIR/SHAKEN ecosystem. More information is available at https://iconectiv.com/trureach/certify.
