Thailand to Continue Benefiting from Flexible Mobile Number Portability when switching Service Providers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – April 24, 2017 – Telcordia Thailand a subsidiary of iconectiv the authoritative partner of the global communications industry connecting more than two billion people every day, today announced it will continue expanding its numbering services in Asia, including a 5 year extension to its successful number portability operations in Thailand. Number portability within the telecommunications industry, refers to the process of reassigning a user’s existing phone number to another carrier, location, or between mobile and fixed line formats. Number portability within markets often fuels competitive pricing among service providers looking to retain existing customers or gain new subscribers.

Telcordia Thailand’s numbering services support the latest porting regulations, which effectively reduce port time to less than 2 business days and increase cost efficiency. In addition to the lengthy portability contract extension, Telcordia Thailand will also continue to provide its powerful solution for number portability resolution which enables a richer, more valuable user experience by ensuring the right calls and messages reach the right customers.

Telcordia Thailand’s number portability service extension was awarded by Thailand’s mobile operator committee, Clearing House for Number Portability Co. Ltd., after a competitive bid among leading telecom companies. Telcordia Thailand first began providing numbering services to Thailand in 2010, and quickly demonstrated its unmatched telecommunications expertise and unwavering dedication to providing services of the highest quality.

“By extending Telcordia Thailand’s role as Thailand’s numbering administrator, consumers can continue experiencing reliable and world-class numbering services, with the added benefit of accurate call routing into Thailand” said Jaroonsak Wangviwat, General Manager, Clearing House for Number Portability.

Scott Puopolo, Executive Vice President, Information Solutions, iconectiv, commented on the Thailand extension, “The team at the Clearing House for Number Portability has been tremendously supportive of our numbering services in Thailand since we began in 2010, and it is an honor to have been retained as the exclusive numbering administrator for the people of Thailand. As was the focus in 2010, our primary goal remains to provide reliability, flexibility, and convenience to the people of Thailand, by facilitating a seamless process when changing to a different service provider that better suits an individual’s needs.”
